1. General

For electronic devices that can be sold on the resale market, our technicians will use enterprise grade data wiping software to ensure that all your data have been purged thus putting your mind at ease. Your electronic device will then be refurbished and even possibly upgraded before we list the devices on our platforms.

We’re committed to the environment that’s why we strongly standby REUSING electronic devices. Giving these devices a 2nd lease of life is by far the most environmentally friendly way because by REUSING these devices we won’t have to spend other resources or raw materials on dismantling, shredding, processing and extracting whatever value is left in these devices.

The devices will only be collected by staff and partners of The Green Factor. Once the devices are collected, they are promptly returned to the recovery facility. These procedures are to ensure that the devices will not fall into the hands of unauthorised personnel.

Data security is one of our main concerns and rightfully so.

As a precautionary step we strongly recommend that you do a basic wipe(reset all settings/reset to factory settings) on your device before handing them to us. If you’re unsure of how to do it, drop us a call and we will walk you through this process. Upon collection of your device, we will proceed to remove all data using 1 or a combination of 3 different data sanitisation methods that was agreed upon previously. We will then produce a certificate of erasure/destruction to assure you that all your data have been successfully removed.

Our data sanitisation process complies with the National Institute of Standards and Technology SP 800-88(NIST SP 800-88). The NIST SP 800-88 is a guideline for media sanitisation used by the US government that provides methodical guidance when it comes to erasing data from electronic storage media.

If your device is obsolete, broken or in a very bad condition, we may not be able to give you any cash value for your device. However we may provide you an option to dispose of your device through us to ensure that it is responsibly recycled.

After successfully selecting a time slot for us to collect your device. We will send you a confirmation E-mail with a guide on steps you can take to maximise the value of the device.

Your device will reach our facility on the same day that it was collected. Inspection usually takes about 1-2 working days. After our inspectors ascertain that the quote accurately reflects the device we will immediately disburse payment. The whole process should take about 3 working days. You will receive an E-mail to confirm that payment has been made.

Do expect payment to take longer if there are changes to the initial quote as it will once again be subjected to your approval.

We’re currently only collecting electronic waste(e-waste) that falls specifically under the Small Consumer and Info-Communication Technology(SCICT) category. Some of these E-Waste include computers(laptops and desktops), mobile phones, home printers, monitors, power adapters, stereo equipment, ETC. If there is something that you would like to dispose of but you’re unsure if we collect the item, feel free to use our contact form and we’ll get back to your request.

At the moment we’re only collecting Small Consumer and Info-Communication Technology(SCICT) Electronic Waste(E-Waste). We’re working towards collecting a wider variety of recyclables in the future after we’ve sourced for ethical and reliable downstream vendors.

If the condition of the device is different from what was initially communicated to us, there will be a slight price adjustment. Some of these factors that we take into consideration when valuing the device are but not limited to, the condition of the device(working or broken), model, specifications, accessories and/or peripherals.
